It took over two weeks to finger knit using this wire. It was extremely stiff to use and fingers were exhausted after using this material. The outcome is quite beautiful and looks delicate. Drawings were created from the shadow of its pattern.
The wooden cable reel was sawed in half so that I could use one of the reels as a large French Knitting instrument. Nails were surrounding the reel and old rubber bands were linked together creating a distance of yarn. The process of me French Knitting was filmed showing the viewer the scale of the pieces and how I had to position myself against the reel in order to knit. Due to the stretchiness of the rubber and the weight of the materials the item grow quickly. The final product was used a a drawing tool, stencil and to resist against dye.
